Joy Chukwudi is an artist, author, and a fantastic lady to talk to, what an honor it was to go on this journey from her boarding school days in Nigeria to Georgia, Texas, and California—coming to terms with racism, accepting herself as a woman and a singer. Gajinder Singh is an internationally renowned architect based in New York.
Gajinder takes us to Colonial India, WWII, before, during, and after the Partition of India, working and living in '60s England, M.I.T in '60s, 9/11, and why Sikhism is a big part of his identity. Due to time constraints, we skipped over lots of stories. We shall find time to revisit those stories in the future.
Gajinder blesses us with a lot of history and a trip down memory lane. I will always be grateful to future guest Harprit for introducing Gajinder to me very early in the setting up of this podcast. Enjoy this extra special episode.

Elena Torres is a telenovela actor who turned into a stand-up comedian. From performing artistically on-screen in Spanish (including one of the biggest telenovela Teresa), Elena started performing stand-up comedy in English and has performed all over Washington DC, Los Angeles, and New York. However, Elena's story began on the East Coast before moving overseas to Madrid and Mexico City until she would return to the States as a young adult. This is a fascinating and hilarious episode that takes us on a full cycle from and back to the East Coast of the United States with food, music, housing, entertainment industry, culture shocks, amongst topics covered.
Big thank you to Three Guys On Podcast

Abraham kicks off the 26th episode taking us from Niamey Niger to Zaria Nigeria, Bristol United Kingdom, and back to Niamey before arriving in New York. Being born in an area that's popular for nomadic tribes may have been the beginning of the shaping of his identity: large fishes, zouk music, culture shocks, getting into acting, and so much more. Abraham also brings us into his motivation for performing, creating stories, and inspirations. Abraham has worked on TV and movie projects, and his journey is just getting started. Abraham is based in LA.

Be sure to catch Abraham on BET's Boomerang Mid-April. Abraham also offers coaching services to actors and can be reached at  https://www.thescriptcoach.net/
PS: I'm still working on improving the remote interviews, so bear with me for the sound quality issues.

Welcome to a new phase of White Label American, the first recorded remotely. It's an honor to have David Amoyal as the guest for this episode. David has been one of the inspirations and role models for me since I got into podcasting. His podcast Calcioland is not just entertaining to listen to; it's informative and has introduced me to a fantastic community of beautiful people around the world. A lot of podcasting help that I have gotten just on a peer-to-peer level has come from this community. We shall get to meet some of these fantastic people down the line.
David takes us through what it's like to have an identity forged where you weren't born, along with how one can end up not being seen as belonging to both worlds anytime he stepped away from one. Despite that, he still shares and has a fantastic journey that includes food, music, movies, and football, specifically Calcio. If you are a student of accounting, business, finance, management, economics, and political science, you best be listening to Calcioland with David Amoyal. Guaranteed A+ worth of material and also check out David's articles on various sporting publications for extra hidden gems.
Stay Safe Everyone!

Episode 24 was my last recording at the Brooklyn Podcasting Studio as the studio had to shut down as a precaution over the Covid-19 pandemic that we are all facing (this was before NY state issued the statewide lockdown). I'll be putting out episodes, don't worry friends. Please be safe and avoid any careless behavior in these trying times.
Special thanks to Lorena Ramos. The wonderful actor blessed us with her presence and experience in the studio. It's not been a comfortable journey despite starting in what's considered a privileged background. Lorena would, at one stage, have to choose between pursuing her career and service to her God. We shall see the importance of having the right spiritual guide, frustrations with the entertainment industry, and how double standards cut across sectors. Luckily, Lorena hooks us up with excellent spots for food in both New York and Mexico City, along with other great experiences in her life.
Lorena is also part of Something From Abroad. A production house put together by immigrant women. I'll be checking out a play or two of theirs in the future

We visit the former Soviet Union for today's episode. Our guest Namik takes us to Kaluga, a city that has been around for about 600 years and has played a significant role in the history and study of cosmology and space travel. Namik introduces us to hospitality in Azerbaijan, which triggers a forgotten memory in me, a reminder of similar generosity existing around the world.
Namik also touches on food, his love for Tupac Shakur (his wife loves Tupac just the same way too), his culture shocks, along with advice for writers and how he has trolled me once or twice. We didn't touch much on football because it was on the eve of El Classico that we recorded. I like to think that he did not want the smoke, Hahaha.

We have our International Women's Day episode. Meet Dr. Connie DePinho, who has a unique story spanning three countries and continents.
Listening to Connie tell her story about her journey was one of those occasions where I wanted to take a seat and be the audience and just listen. It was an honor to have Connie in the studio sharing how she and her family navigated pre-colonial Angola to the end of fascist Portugal before arriving in the United States.
I am grateful that Connie chose to share profound moments, such as discovering her father's legacy is still alive in Angola on this podcast. Never underestimate how far the seeds you plant can grow.

It's always fantastic to have Linda Adria Sebasiho join us in the studio. For this episode, we dived into the world of entrepreneurship and dating based on Linda's experience. From influences on Linda to the contradictory nature of how African women are expected to perform according to a "cultural standard" when it comes to business, raising a family, and more (set by who?)
In discussing both dating and entrepreneurship, there are lots of crossovers where both topics are intertwined. It's not just limited to Congo, Nigeria, or Africa, as you would see, multiple issues apply to people all over the world (be it correctly or incorrectly) when it comes to both topics.
Linda appeared in the NY Times recently

Welcome to the 20th episode. I decided to try something unique and get a panel to have a chat around the largest sport in the immigrant community, which is football, also known as soccer to many. Two friends of the podcast in returning guests, Azam Ayub and first-timer Mark Butler, join me in the studio for this special occasion.
It's not just soccer that we ended up talking about over a few beers. We also brought up some childhood memories, even realizing that as kids, we started developing talents thanks to the game. History, racism, club vs. country, and more experiences get explored. Mark drops a gem at the very end too. I can't thank both guests enough.
Thank you all for your support. Keep sharing the love a lot!
